Paris Summer Workshop - Paris l'Été
Paris, July, 18-22, 2011
Five three-hour sessions that present FACT's individualized, organic approach to professional acting training...
PROGRAM :
The Actor's Voice (Monday,10hAM - 1PM): A synthesis of holistic techniques to unblock and develop the vocal/respiratory system. Freeing the voice liberates the emotions and imagination as well.
Sense Memory (Tuesday,10AM - 1PM): The key to FACT's approach, sensory exploration,- through sense memory exercises, creative visualizations, improvisations and active research into the life of a character,- empowers the actor to transform verbal information in a script into living experience onstage or on camera.
Scene Study/Personalization (Wednesday,10AM - 1PM): The goal is always to go beyond “acting” in order to live truthfully an imaginary life. Following passage of a prepared scene, the work involves evaluating the actors' process and helping them explore, through the varied techniques of the craft, a deeper involvement in the life of the character and the world of the script.
Scene Study/Dramatic Structure (Thursday, 10AM - 1PM): The actor's personal involvement in the life of the character leads naturally to a discovery of the confict inherent in dramatic structure. Scenes are explored in terms of relationships and needs; a conscious working-through that is never mechanical.
The Actor's Career (Friday, 10AM - 1PM): Practical work (exercises & improvs simulating various casting situations) and consultations (evaluation of photos and resumés; information on resources; self-image), adapted to individual needs, help to de-mystify the casting process.
